November is NaNoWriMo

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) where participants commit to dedicating time to writing their novel (or memoir or any other type of book, from what I understand). The goal is to write 50,000 words between November 1-30.
I’ve considered doing this and think it would be a fun challenge, as well as productive. I have a half dozen or so pretty solid story ideas and could flesh out one of them with some focus and dedicated time.
From what I’ve read, it’s best to do some advance planning to have all your ducks in a row so that when November 1 gets here, you can just focus on the writing and the output of 50,000 words. This is not the year for me to get this done, but I will be participating for the third year in a row come February for the InCoWriMo– International Correspondence Writing Month.
