I love these new stamps! The Espresso Stamps go on sale on April 9, 2021, and can be pre-ordered from USPS.

New stamps are always released with a first-day-of-issue ceremony that includes speakers and other fanfare depending on the theme and location. Seattle, Wash., is the location of this stamp’s new release ceremony. In these days of COVID-19, I don’t know what that entails. The USPS states that some release ceremonies have no ceremonies and some have virtual ceremonies. I would suggest for any that you are interested in possibly attending, to do some research first.

Most news stations and local newspapers offer coverage before the event takes place letting people know about it. You can see the upcoming line-up of a stamp’s release date and its city by going here. The next one closest to my city of Minneapolis-St Paul is the one in Fargo for the new Mallard Duck stamp on June 1, 2021.

There is a stamp release ceremony missing from here which is the May 4, 2021, new Star Wars Droid stamps. There’s a virtual ceremony scheduled for that release so maybe that’s why it’s not on this schedule.

In July 2018 I attended the ScoobyDoo stamp release ceremony at the Mall of America. It was my first time attending one of these and I wrote about that experience here.

It was a lot of fun and offered more than I was expecting (a free collectible pin, special Scooby Doo postmarks, loads of stamps, speakers, pictures). For the right stamp, I would go again.

Hello! I love all things stationery, papery, epistolary including planners, office supplies, mail, postcards, doodles, desks and organization, postage stamps and mail art.
